In 2003, Laurie opened LuLu’s at the Belle Kaye located at 3862 North Lincoln Avenue in Chicago, an extraordinary vintage salon with a well edited collection of special occasion gowns, cocktail dresses, furs, alternative wedding gowns and an incredible selection of costume jewelry from the 1920’s through the 1980’s. Laurie designed the store with old world glamour in mind, complete with oriental rugs, chandeliers, and French settees.

Laurie travels around the world, buying beautiful things from estates, private collections and auctions. In addition to favorite vintage jewelry designers such as Eisenberg (1930 -1940), Miriam Haskell, Kenneth Jay Lane (1960), Vendome and runway pieces from the great coutouriers Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior and Christian Lacroix, Laurie carries the works of two outstanding contemporary costume jewelry designers: Larry Vrba and Iradj Moini. Laurie personally selects every piece of clothing and jewelry at Lulu’s, ensuring each item’s pristine condition and authenticity.
